Can't recommend highly enough for a weekend stopover
Charming ambiance, helpful staff, and an excellent breakfast made my stay memorable, particularly appreciating the traditional decor and the well-furnished public spaces that truly reflect the heritage of the place, all while being conveniently located just 16 km from the nearest airport.
Nothing could be improved.

it’s lovely that they tried to maintain some charm, but this place is falling apart. the walls are cracked, and the mattress must be as old as the hotel itself. Not to mention, after the tedious journey, i expected a complimentary welcome gift. not even a kind note was left in the shabby single room. i almost gave a good review but just couldn’t.

The shower struggled to work, and the room size felt claustrophobic.

The hotel feels like a time capsule, taking you back to an era where every corner tells a story. I particularly enjoyed the quaint charm of the dining room, complete with its mismatched Victorian furniture that adds a unique vibe—it's imperfectly perfect and gives the place character.
There’s no getting around the fact that the plumbing is quirky at best. the shower in my room had a mind of its own, swinging from hot to cold without warning. And while the complimentary breakfast was a nice touch, the options seemed limited—could use a bit more variety. Lastly, Sudder Street isn’t exactly the cosmopolitan scene. it's a bit rough around the edges, so if you’re looking for glitz, this might not hit the mark.

It was just a perfect match for a city break in Kolkata with good value. The staff went above and beyond to help me resolve a billing question, even bringing out the original receipt. Consider sitting in the garden area for a quiet moment.
